Welcome to maths friendly spaces

Every part of our settings or classrooms can be a maths friendly space; there are mathematical possibilities everywhere. Here we have collected some ideas to consider when auditing the environment in terms of being ‘mathematics friendly’.

By ‘maths friendly’ we mean the ways in which the design and organisation of indoor and outdoor spaces expand opportunities for inclusive, playful maths learning experiences that are engaging and appropriate for young children.
